LAKETOWN SQUADRON ANNOUNCE INAUGURAL NBA G LEAGUE SEASON SCHEDULE

KENNER, La. – The Laketown Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, today announced their 2026-27 inaugural season schedule. The Squadron will begin the season on the road against the Austin Spurs on Sunday, November 8, before hosting the Mexico City Capitanes in their home opener on Saturday, November 14.
The Squadron’s first season in Kenner will feature 50 total games, 24 of which will take place at the Pontchartrain Center. The home schedule features 11 day games, nine games on Friday or Saturday, and a stretch of eight consecutive home games from February 16 through March 5.
Laketown’s first seven home games will be part of the 14-game Tip-Off Tournament, where G league teams are separated into four Showcase Cup Pods. The Squadron will compete in the South Region against the Austin Spurs, Memphis Hustle, Mexico City Capitanes, Oklahoma City Blue, Osceola Magic, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and Texas Legends. The teams with the best winning percentage in each of the four regions, along with the next four teams with the best winning percentages regardless of region, will advance to compete for the NBA G League Winter Showcase Cup championship in December.
Following the Tip-Off Tournament, team records will reset before the 36-game regular season. The first two regular-season games will take place at the NBA G League Winter Showcase, the league’s annual in-season scouting event, when all the league’s teams converge in one city to play in front of NBA general managers and player personnel executives from all 30 NBA teams.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the NBA G League Playoffs, which conclude with the NBA G League Finals in April 2027. The Squadron will compete in the Eastern Conference.
